An Even Bigger Crisis is on the Way

President Biden was warned by scores of industry players that his vaccination requirement would exacerbate already-existing supply chain constraints.

The Biden administration announced its COVID-19 immunization and testing requirement for workers at companies with 100 or more employees on Thursday. Noncompliant businesses might face fines of up to $14,000 per infraction.

He’s Driving America Over a Cliff

The National Trucking Associations, American Private Truck Council, and Truckload Carriers Union, among others, wrote an open letter to President Biden. This letter is predicting the vaccine requirement will cost trucking companies approximately four out of ten drivers.

To paraphrase the letter: our businesses are active participants in the fight over COVID-19, and we wholeheartedly endorse the use of vaccinations to combat the virus’s spread.

We are afraid, however, that imposing a requirement will suffocate an already tight supply system. We predict enterprises subject to the rule will lose 37% of their drivers, at a time when America already has 80,000 truck motorists.

We want flexibility for transport and distribution chain workers, notably truckers, who spend the majority of their time in their vehicles with little touch with coworkers or customers.

Concerns about chronic supply chain challenges and their impact on the economy are also expressed in the declaration.

This Won’t Work

Despite the fact we serve various businesses, we all share the pain of existing supply chain interruptions. They are driving up costs and causing a lack of options of goods in the United States, just in time for Christmas.

We are absolutely dedicated to the improving economy of this country as corporate leaders and patriotic Americans. We’re aiming to restore normalcy and to help all citizens live better lives by ensuring they have access to the necessary products and materials they require.

The White House has already been slapped with a flood of challenges from private firms and state and local governments. This comes since the Biden administration started announcing the terms of the vaccine requirement. This is a requirement that will be implemented by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

Jeremy Boreing, founder and co-CEO of The Daily Wire, described the demand as a “horrific misuse of authority.” Boreing also says the Daily Wire has brought legal action against the Biden government.

“We’re not the federal government’s enforcement agency. Forcing people to choose between their jobs and their rights is a heinous misuse of power,” Boreing stated.

“We will not be a party to it. The cost of adopting this testing system will not be borne by us. The Daily Wire shall not be held liable for interfering with our workers’ private health decisions and information. Our firm was formed to fight oppression, and we will continue to do so.”

Ben Shapiro of the Daily Wire has shared similar remarks.
