Just as the Taliban quickly took control of Afghanistan and America (and their partners hurried to flee), President Biden claimed that his government made no missteps in how it managed the pullout.
In an appearance with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, Biden claimed that the scenario would have devolved into chaos, regardless of what happened. When questioned if it might have been managed differently or if the government had done anything wrong, Biden replied no and that he doesn’t know how they would have escaped without chaos.
EXCLUSIVE: Pressed on whether the U.S.'s exit from Afghanistan could have been handled better, Pres. Biden tells @GStephanopoulos, "The idea that somehow, there's a way to have gotten out without chaos ensuing—I don't know how that happens." https://t.co/mH1AyWI5lb pic.twitter.com/McOOwyaxza

Biden held the conversation barely over a month after making it plain that he had not anticipated the events of the previous week. On July 8, President Biden asserted firmly that the insurgents would not have been able to produce a scenario wherein soldiers in Afghanistan would have to be removed from the US Embassy, as they had been in Vietnam.
Biden Needs to Go – Impeachment?
Rep. Kevin McCarthy, the congressional GOP leader, said that if his party regains control of the House in the 2022 midterms, impeachment will not be used as a political tactic towards President Biden.
Highlights from Biden's ABC interview:
-Did not "recall" being warned by U.S. Military to not push ahead with his plan
-Did not know U.S. has troops in Syria
-Did not know certain events in Kabul happened this week
-Did not know people were getting killedSensing a pattern

The Democrat majority in the House impeached Trump multiple times; the first in December 2019, accusing Trump of abusing his power and obstructing Congress, as well as saying he invited foreign meddling to aid his re-election campaign in 2020.
In January 2021, Trump was impeached for the second time, charged with encouraging the violent Jan. 6 insurgency at the United States Capitol by right-wing nationalists and other Trump voters; this was done to stop the Senate from acknowledging Biden’s Electoral College win in last year’s elections.
Trump was exonerated on both occasions in the Senate impeachment
McCarthy claimed again last week in an interview published with Fox News that the Democrats utilized impeachment for political purposes. He also stated that conservatives say impeachment is “so significant” that it can only be used as a last resort.
By my count, Pres Biden today sat for his 9th news interview, his 2nd with @GStephanopoulos.
Compares with predecessors at same point in presidency:

Obama: 113— Mark Knoller (@markknoller) August 18, 2021
However, if the long-serving California congressman is elected House Speaker in 2023, will he rule out removal from office? They would seek to impeach if Biden did something unlawful. However, Republicans will not pursue impeachment for political reasons, McCarthy told Fox news.
His remarks come as a few on the right are trying to call for President Biden’s impeachment over the administration’s botched rescue operation of Americans and allied forces from Afghanistan after authoritarian Taliban forces quickly acquired Kabul.
While Biden does absolutely nothing to ease the calamity he caused in Afghanistan, he’s got all the energy in the world to target GOP governors. At Biden’s most recent press conference where he attacked Republican governors, he also failed to take a single question from any member of the press.
This truly speaks volumes about the type of person leading our nation.
