CNN Leans Into Biden’s Declining Democratic Support

The Democrat Party once was united and rallied behind Joe Biden. During the 2020 presidential election, Biden was backed by all sorts of factions of the party that wanted to get him into office.

However, since his time as president, Biden’s largely let down his party. Back in February, his administration walked back a key campaign promise to make community college “free.”

Biden’s supporters also aren’t pleased with how he’s gone about matters such as climate change, abortion, the federal minimum wage, and more.

This displeasure is why growing numbers of Democrats (particularly progressives) are pushing for another candidate to be nominated in 2024. Some Democrats have even called for Biden to express that he won’t be running for president before the midterms.

As all this plays out, CNN is now leaning into the censure as well, according to The Hill.

CNN’s Take on Biden’s Ratings

CNN host Chris Wallace essentially explained that Democrats are ready to kick Biden to the curb.

After noting that three-quarters of Democrats want another 2024 nominee that is not Biden, Wallace said by the time the next presidential race arrives, Democrats will be more than ready to welcome Biden into retirement.

Later, Wallace mentioned Biden’s age, noting that by the time 2024 comes around, many Democrats may be ready for a nominee who isn’t coming up on his 82nd birthday.

Wallace’s comments about Biden’s falling support with his own base come as CNN has consistently pointed out other issues.

On a series of different subjects ranging from gas prices to the economy, Biden’s been carrying around nationwide low approval ratings, not just within his own party.

Growing Discontent From the White House

In recent weeks, the Biden White House has expressed annoyance with the media failing to rush towards the president’s defense. Biden himself even snapped at reporters asking him questions, accusing these folks of only focusing on the same things.

Other White House complaints accuse the media of not giving Biden a fair shake or appropriately getting his messages out to the American public.

Meanwhile, critics of the administration warn the role of the media isn’t to prop Biden up or make sure Americans are on his side.

At the rate things are going, the Biden administration should expect the media to continue covering the various events attached to his administration.

Wallace, during his segment, did acknowledge Biden’s victory with the Inflation Reduction Act; however, there are many more cons than pros facing this president.

What do you think about Chris Wallace’s coverage of Joe Biden and his loss of support from Democrats? Do you believe the media is giving Biden a fair shake in covering his presidency? You’re more than welcome to share your thoughts in the comments area.
