Democrats are becoming more concerned that President Biden’s anticipated reelection bid may be overshadowed by the scandal of confidential documents discovered at his Wilmington, Delaware home and old workplace.
Document Scandal Causes Worries
Democrats claim to still have confidence in Biden’s ability to solve the issue, but they assert the president’s situation has been made more difficult by the release of batches of secret information, prior to the start of his campaign.
They speculate in private about how difficult it may be for Biden to clarify what transpired.
People can make comparisons to the email scandal involving Hillary Clinton, where the former secretary of state acknowledged using a personal email account while conducting official business.
Additionally, it benefits Republicans by making it more difficult for Democrats to criticize former President Trump for the FBI’s investigation of his Florida home, where classified information was found in August 2022.
One Democratic strategist who requested anonymity so they could speak openly about the situation predicted this is ultimately to be a really major issue for the president.
Republicans have a history of creating scandals; so despite the fact the scenario involving Biden is very different from the one surrounding Trump, they will portray it as a major development.

Democrats have taken efforts to publicly explain that the circumstances of Trump and Biden are significantly different, even though they are secretly conceding the issue.
It’s comparing apples to oranges, said Democratic strategist Rodell Mollineau. Democrats need to be absolutely ready for Republicans to spin this into the biggest political scandal after Watergate, he cautioned Democrats.
This week, the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability’s Republican members began looking into the sensitive information that Biden was in possession of.
In press releases and on social networking sites this week, the Republican National Committee (RNC) focused heavily on the issue, posting file videos of Biden reversing his Corvette into his garage.
One tweet from the RNC Research account shows Biden reversing his car into his secure garage where the classified documents were stored.

Sen. Ted Cruz jokingly linked it to Clinton’s recurring issue in 2016 on Twitter.
Reporters questioned administration officials on Thursday and Friday about whether the development would affect Biden’s choice to run for office again.
Biden Under Scrutiny
Keisha Lance Bottoms, a senior advisor to the president for public engagement, was questioned by reporters during the White House press conference on Friday.
She was asked about whether the disclosure of the records will have any influence on his choice to run again. Bottoms responded, saying she’ll direct such inquiries to the president as he is qualified to talk about that.
White House deputy press secretary Andrew Bates said “it doesn’t” in response to a question about how the disclosure of the records might affect Biden’s choice to run for office again.
