On Monday night, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) reacted to a Texas Democratic sheriff who said his agency started an inquiry into the aircraft that brought 50 illegal immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard.
DeSantis: Immigrants Volunteered to Travel
DeSantis said the trips were consensual. Packages with a description of Martha’s Vineyard and phone numbers for various programs on the island were distributed to illegal immigrants by a vendor working under an agreement with the state of Florida.
Did there exist any outcry when criminal aliens crossed the southern border and victimized Americans, murdering some and raping others? DeSantis says again that no, there wasn’t.
Last, we now know that the number of fentanyl deaths is at a record high. Where is the source of fentanyl? It is crossing the unguarded southern border.
DeSantis explained the mechanics of how the trips were carried out by stating, “all of the illegal aliens signed agreement paperwork to go.”
DeSantis continued, “Afterward, the vendor who is handling this for Florida supplied them with a package that had a map of Martha’s Vineyard.”
“It contained the contact details for various services on Martha’s Vineyard and numbers for the general Massachusetts agencies that manage things involving immigration and refugees.”
In light of the fact that it was clearly consensual, all the other rubbish being read is simply untrue.

Despite the fact that a Florida paper published they found a flyer handed to the illegal immigrants that identified Massachusetts as their destination, Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said the migrants were “baited” into taking the trip.
He made no mention of any individuals and acknowledged he was unable to identify any laws that had been violated.
Salazar “Upset” by DeSantis’ Actions
Salazar reacted, “That really does manage to upset me rather a bit. Therefore, we are unquestionably starting an inquiry into this.”
To the greatest extent feasible, he stated, “I think folks need to be held responsible for it. At this time, I’m unable to declare with certainty that they violated any federal, state, or municipal laws.”
“I can assure you what has happened to these people was unacceptable simply in terms of human rights.”

Immigrants have been overwhelmingly happy to leave Bexar County after being abandoned, lost, and “vacated to fight for themselves,” according to a DeSantis spokesperson in response to Salazar’s comments.
The spokeswoman added, “Florida offered them the choice to look for greener grass in a sanctuary city that supplied higher resources for them.”
“Unless the Massachusetts National Guard deserted these people, they have received housing, food, clothes, and more opportunities to achieve after being unfairly lured into the country.”
This comes in contrast to the 53 immigrants who perished in a truck that was discovered dumped in Bexar County in June.
