12 days after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s historic visit to Taiwan, a group of American politicians arrived there early on Sunday morning.
President Tsai Ing-wen will reportedly be met during the two-day trip to Taipei, the nation’s capital.
According to Reuters, the de facto American embassy in the area verified that left-wing Senator Ed Markey is in charge of the group.
On what was characterized as a bigger political sweep around the Indo-Pacific area, he is accompanied by four other parliamentarians.
The delegation will see Tsai on Monday, according to Taiwan’s presidential office, as a gesture of solidarity, following Pelosi’s own brief travel to the island nation.

“Markey heading a team to visit Taiwan once again underscores the United States’ solid support for Taiwan, particularly at a time when China is now escalating hostilities in the Taiwan Strait and the surrounding area with military drills,” it said in a statement.
According to the Associated Press, a Taiwanese station earlier aired footage of a U.S. government aircraft landing at Songshan Airfield in Taipei, Taiwan’s capital, at around 7 p.m. on Sunday.
US Representative Aumua Amata Coleman Radewagen, an official from American Samoa, as well as Democratic Members of the House John Garamendi, Alan Lowenthal, as well as Don Beyer, make up the group, according to the news source.
According to Breitbart News, communist China has, for years, viewed Taiwan’s democratic, self-governing territory as its own.
It replied to Pelosi’s visit earlier in the month by circling Taiwan for three days with missiles, cruisers, and jet fighters. Even though some issues with commercial air flying in the area still need to be rectified, those incursions have only recently started to go away.
Understanding China’s Beef
The Chinese government is opposed to Taiwan establishing official contacts with any foreign countries, especially those represented by individuals like Pelosi who is very close to the center of American power.
The United States Gov't doesn't give a damn about the people in Ukraine or Taiwan and I think deep down most of you know it.

The FBI raid on former President Donald Trump’s home sparked “political infighting drama,” according to China’s state-run News Agency. It claimed this on Thursday as evidence that the United States had become a supposed “banana republic.”
As usual, Chinese propaganda machines were only parodying language they had gleaned from American social media; they even added scare quotes to the word “banana republic” whenever they saw fit, without citing any of their sources.
The FBI raid has drawn criticism from some who claim it resembles the politicized probes and power excesses of a “third world” government or “banana republic.”
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) was one of the most prominent figures to utilize the term “banana republic.” Also because DeSantis is frequently the subject of unfavorable media attention, flame battles resembling bananas are erupting on social media. This article appeared in Powerhouse News and has been published here with permission.
