The trick began when Israel announced to the world that it was beginning a ground offensive into Gaza. This caused a reaction on behalf of Hamas, to deploy its ground forces and much of its weaponry to the tunnels near the Israel border.

To add to the illusion, the prime minister of Israel, made the following statement:

“would exact a very heavy price from Hamas and the other terrorist organizations. We are doing so and we will continue to do so with great force. The last word has not been said and this operation will continue as long as necessary in order to restore the quiet and security to the State of Israel.”

The world’s media fell for the trap as well, reporting on the false story:

Israel Delivers a Striking Blow to Hamas

In a devastatingly precise military strike, the Israeli defense force destroyed Bassem Issa, a member of the Hamas military council. As Israel announced the attack on Wednesday, Hamas confirmed the death of their leader shortly after.

Hamas said in the statement: “other leaders and holy warriors. The confrontation with the enemy is open-ended.”

The conflict between Israel and Hamas has been raging on for a week now, and the loss of life on both sides is growing. So far, over 100 Palestinians have been killed by airstrikes and by friendly fire, while about 10 Israelites have been killed. Out of the over 1000 rockets fired into Israel, some 200 of them have landed in the Gaza strip, killing several women and children.

Israel has a secret weapon tho, a state-of-the-art missile battery system (called Iron Dome) that shoots down rockets fired towards populated areas. This system has been overworked over the past several days, allowing some Hamas rockets to get through, accounting for some 10 casualties in Israel.

The system has been captured working in a stunning photograph which shows Hams rockets fired from Gaza on the left-hand side, and the Iron Dome intercepting them on the right.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a comment after a massive IDF bombardment of Hamas targets in Gaza:

“Yesterday and today, the IDF attacked hundreds of Hamas & Islamic Jihad terrorist targets in the Gaza Strip. We have eliminated dozens of terrorists, including senior commanders,” “Hamas and Islamic Jihad have paid — I tell you here — will pay a very heavy price for their aggression. I say here this evening — their blood in on their heads.”

Naftali Bennett, a member of the opposition in Israel, said in a statement:

“It’s up to Hamas as long as Hamas keeps [attacking Israel] in order to murder Israelis across the state — by the way, Arabs and Jews alike.” “Hamas already murdered two Arab Israelis in the city of Lod, a dad, 52 years old, and his daughter Nadin, 16 years old, Israeli Arabs who were murdered. A Holocaust survivor, 85 years old, was murdered by Hamas, in her wheelchair.”
