Top Democrats cautioned voters during political rallies on Saturday that abortion rights, social security, and democracy are all on the ballot as the country braces for the midterm elections this week.
Self-Pity is Not OK
Former President Obama stated to Democratic voters in Pittsburgh, “Pouting and wallowing in self-pity are not options. On Tuesday, let’s ensure that our nation does not fall 50 years behind.”
Obama and President Joe Biden toured for the very first time since Biden took office in Philadelphia later that day.
The Pennsylvania Senate election between Democratic Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman and Republican Dr. Mehmet Oz will determine which party holds the upper chamber of Congress. The latest FOX News survey gives Fetterman a lead of 45% to 42%.
Oz, who has tried to portray himself as a centrist, is gaining ground in the polls after last month’s debate and his opposition’s rehabilitation from a stroke. Since his stroke in May, Fetterman has battled with speech perception issues and communicating effectively.
“I will provide the 51st vote to end the filibuster and increase the minimum wage. Send Dr. Oz back to New Jersey, immediately,” Fetterman stated, in reference to Oz’s previous location.
Biden’s address was similar to those he has been giving for weeks, emphasizing legislative victories, such as the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act, and alleging a Republican-led Congress will seek to eliminate access to abortion, voter rights, social security, and Medicare.

“I stayed in Pennsylvania more than Oz has been in Pennsylvania and I went away at the age of 10 years old,” the president added.
The same FOX News poll finds Democratic gubernatorial candidate Josh Shapiro with a significant 53% to 37% advantage over Republican Doug Mastriano.
Former President Trump similarly advocated for Oz and Mastriano in Pennsylvania on Saturday.
At the gathering, the former Republican president projected his polling statistics on a large screen and referring to Florida’s Republican governor as “Ron DeSanctimonious.”
Trump and DeSantis are regarded the frontrunner for the Republican nominee in the forthcoming presidential primary.

Kathy Hochul’s Job is On the Line
In New York, wherein incumbent Democrat Gov. Kathy Hochul is being challenged by GOP Rep. Lee Zeldin, in what has turned into a heavily contested gubernatorial campaign, former President Bill Clinton swung by to advocate for the governor.
Regardless of the deep-blue voting mix of New York, Hochul’s job is on the line. Her lack of job security comes in part due to worries over the state’s spike in crime. However, Bill Clinton suggested Republicans’ attention on criminality is politically driven.
“However, what exactly are the Republicans suggesting? I want you to feel terrified and enraged…and thinking is the last thing I would like you to do,” Bill Clinton argued.
