Supreme Court Pick, Tensions rise

The president is expected to announce his nomination for the Supreme court this afternoon. It is highly expected that President Donald Trump’s nomination will be Amy Coney Barrett. The Democrats vowed to fight the process tooth and nail.

Liberal media personalities are already attacking the potential candidate. Chief among which was Leftist tv host Bill Maher: “But apparently the pick is going to be this omy…a-omy…Amy Comey [sic],” Maher said as he started to laugh, “well, we’ll be saying this name a lot I’m sure because she’s a f***ing nut.” Fox News reported.

“Religion, I was right about that one, too,” Maher continued. “Amy, I’m sorry but, Amy Comey [sic] Barrett—Catholic, really Catholic, I mean really, really Catholic, like speaking in tongues. Like she doesn’t believe in condoms, which [is] what she has in common with Trump because he doesn’t either—I remember that from Stormy Daniels.”

This blatant and personal attack should not come as a surprise to conservative voters. We just have to remember the vicious attack Justice Cavenaugh was subjected to before his appointment. Fortunately for Barrett, they most likely cannot use the topic of gender violence against her, instead they will resort to vulgar and deeply personal attacks as we have witnessed from Bill Maher.

Bill Maher also hit out at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi who earlier this week threatened Trump by saying “we have arrows in our quiver that I’m not about to discuss” regarding Democrats’ ability to prevent the president from filling the vacant SCOTUS seat. Fox News reported.

“Great, now Democrats are bringing arrows to a gunfight,” Maher reacted. “But I don’t think we have any arrows in our quiver! I think our quiver is bare! They have the power and they’re going to use it to make the court with six conservatives and when the 2020 election winds up in the lap of that court as they’re practically already promising that they will, guess who wins? We can’t stop them from getting the court seat, which means we can’t stop them from picking the election winner.”

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer had the following to say: “The stakes of this election, the stakes of this vacancy, concern no less than the future of fundamental rights for the American people,” “All the rights enshrined in our Constitution that are supposed to be protected by the Supreme Court of the United States. All the rights that could be undone or unwound by a conservative majority on the court.”

He continued: “If you care about these things and the kind of country we live in, this election and this vacancy mean everything. … By every modicum of decency and honor, Leader McConnell and the Republican majority have no right to fill it.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said: “Already some of the same individuals who tried every conceivable dirty trick to obstruct Justice Gorsuch and Justice Kavanaugh are lining up … to proclaim the third time will be the charm,” McConnell said. “The American people are about to witness an astonishing parade of misrepresentations about the past, misstatements about the present and more threats against our institutions from the same people, the same people who already have been saying for months … they want to pack the court.”

It is clear that a monumental battle is underway in the American political system. If the situation were not tense before the election, they certainly are now.
