Citizens of New York and Las Angeles are leaving! Seeking greener pastures in Texas and Florida.

In a report by Fox News: “More residents escaped from New York over the last year than from any other state, according to estimates released by the U.S. Census Bureau on Tuesday.”

“Some 126,355 people high-tailed it out of the Empire State between July 2019 and July 2020, a dip of 0.65 percent, the preliminary figures show.”

“New York has been losing locals since 2016, but the most recent drop was significantly larger than in years past.”

“If the numbers hold, New York could lose one seat, dropping to 26, according to an analysis by William Frey, chief demographer for the Brookings Institution,” The New York Times reported

“That would leave the Empire State with fewer seats than Florida for the first time ever”, the report said.

In California, ABC 10 reported that “For the second year in a row, more people left the state than moved there. The result was a net migration loss of 135,600 people.”

“People left the state in similar numbers as they did last year. but far fewer people moved to California, especially from April to June when the state was under a stay-at-home order because of the pandemic.”

Tesla, Space X CEO Elon Musk is ditching California for Texas.

In an interview with Fox Musk said: California has taken innovators for granted with strict regulations that stunted opportunity for growth.

“You have a forest of redwoods and the little trees can’t grow,” in the interview, which took place during the Wall Street Journal’s annual CEO Council Summit, Musk said, “California has been winning for a long time, and I think they’re taking it for granted.”

The auto executive also suggested that Silicon Valley might be declining in relevance in the tech world. “I think we’ll see some reduction in the influence of Silicon Valley,” he said.

Tesla will be moving its headquarters to Texas as well.
