By all means, this election battle is far from over, but regardless of the outcome, Trumpism has shaped global politics now, and for generations to come. Since the moment he was inaugurated, President Trump has been a force of nature, his movement of direct politics has revitalized the Republican party and terraformed the global political system.
Before Trump, the Republican Party didn’t stand a chance. Its candidates were boring, old, career politicians, lost in the ways of smooth-talking political correctness and special interests donors. 2016 was looking to be much the same as the previous two elections, the Democrat candidate was going to wipe the floor with the GOP. Suddenly Trump came along, name-calling, insulting, joking, making wild claims, attacking Mexico, and tackling the anti-American global system. There was no way he was going to win.
What everyone in the establishment (Democrat and Republican) failed to see was how out of touch they were. The reality was, Donald Trump was saying exactly what the everyday American voter wanted to hear. He didn’t sugar coat it either, he would look you in the eye and say it with confidence, no matter who it offended. The other candidates didn’t stand a chance.
What is Trumpism? The left would call it divisive, extreme, and reckless. I would call it innovative, unafraid, revolutionary, and the right policy at the right time. It’s more than that tho, it’s making politics personal. What do I mean by that? Well in the past, politicians rose to fame by being smooth-talking, charming, and of course, by raising the most money. Trump made it personal by tackling issues directly. When the average politician said: “We have to deal with immigration in a thoughtful way so that everyone is satisfied”, Trump would say: “We are going to stop these Illegals and we are going to build a wall, and Mexico is going to pay.
The key difference between Trump and the rest is the following. Doing, and saying. Direct politics wins elections and global leaders and candidates are beginning to realize it. In 2019, Boris Johnson won the biggest conservative victory in recent history with the following premise: Get Brexit Done!. In Brazil conservative candidate, Jair Bolsonaro won with the message Brazil above everything. The trend is clear. Direct politics is what the people want to see.
People are tired of dishonesty, political correctness, and globalist agendas. Politicians who stick to this story will fade away if they don’t clean up their act, just like several Republicans did after 2016. Ted Cruz and several other Republicans, for example, have embraced Trumpism.
Conservative commentators such as Ben Shapiro, Charlie Kirk, Candice Owens, etc, have embraced the need for honest direct politics, Trumpism politics, America First politics. This is the future and those who fail to recognize it will fail like those in 2016 and other parties around the world who have lost touch with the everyday man and woman
