The Wide Open US Border is Causing a Double Disaster

A word of advice for Europeans planning a trip to the United States anytime in the near future: It may be easier to enter via Laredo, Texas, rather than JFK. According to Reuters, the Biden government will demand travelers to show proof of immunization in order to enter the country, as this is the only way to expand the tourism business securely.

That’s a much higher bar than the White House is setting for people attempting to enter the nation illegally through Mexico. Jen Psaki, the White House press official, stated this week that the regime’s border policy is based on stopping the spread of contagious diseases into the United States’ heartland.

That assertion contradicts reality. This Monday, the Texas port city of McAllen declared a municipal calamity when 1,500 of the 7,000 migrants freed by the Biden government were carriers for COVID-19.

In just one month in July, 210,000 immigrants entered the nation from Mexico. Dr. Anthony Fauci is now pushing for people to re-adopt stringent COVID measures, warning that things are only going to worsen.

On the frontier, things already are deteriorating.

The percentage of positive tests amongst immigrants crossing the border has climbed dramatically in recent weeks, as per Associate Director for Border control Policy David Shahoulian. According to Shahoulian, those asylum seekers are making Border Patrol officers sick.

This has resulted in an rise in the amount of Customs and Border Protection law enforcement personnel being isolated and admitted to hospitals. Even as infection rates for officers rise (implying that some officers are suffering from breakthrough illnesses), they are undoubtedly making American citizens ill as well.

The Biden regime’s positive decision to postpone the removal of Title 42, which allows Border Agents to move away from many immigrants promptly, is a step in the right direction, and it doesn’t go that far.

The White House’s future intentions to inoculate immigrants at the border will be hampered if it abandons the Trump-era Remain in Mexico plan; that’s the case, given that the vaccination takes about two weeks to work, according to the Centers for Disease Control. Overcrowding in detention centers will remain to be a disease vector.

So Many Migrants Refuse the Vaccine

According to the Department of Homeland Security, 30% of all detained foreigners decline the coronavirus immunization. The capacity of CBP detention facilities is around 700%. If those figures were Americans crammed into a Florida bar, CDC director Rochelle Walensky would melt down.

Despite President Joe Biden’s claims that true “patriots” take the necessary steps to prevent the spread of the influenza virus, he appears disinterested in doing his bit. While Biden’s border approach amplifies the need for public-health limitations, he urges American corporations to wait for a much-needed tourist boost.
